Professor Seymour Papert

Professor Seymour Papert is a man of great vision. He had great vision in the sixties when it came to technology, especially computers. He was the first to see that children could use the computer for learning purposes. He is also a man of aciton. Many firsts took place in his labratory at MIT. In his lab the children used the computer to make graphics for the first time. From this the Logo programming language was created, and from this the Logo Foundation was created. The Foundation produces software that helps people to understand how to use the Logo programmin language and software related to the language.

Now Professor Papert lives in Maine where he has opened his own labratory called the Learning Barn where technology beyond its time is being used and implemented. He also is a distinguished Professor at the University of Maine. He also serves on advisory boards for MaMaMedia and Lego Mindstorms. It is safe to say that Professor Seymour Papert is a man of great vision and action.http://www.papert.org/
